How To Cancel Visa in UAE? UAE Visa Cancellation Procedure

It’s crucial to note that you can’t cancel your own visa unless you’re a holder of a UAE Investor Visa. Your sponsor must apply for your visa cancellation and prepare all the documents.

In case you’re working in a company then your work permit and employment contract will be cancelled first and later on your visa will be cancelled through the MoHRE (Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation). Your employer will be responsible for the cancellation of your work contract and afterwards the cancellation of your visa and you both must sign the documents stating that you’ve received your funds, gratuity, and any remaining debts.

Through GDRFAD

Once your work permit has been canceled you can proceed with the visa cancellation process through the GDRFAD (General Directorate for Residency and Foreign Affairs, Dubai) either online or at the service centers.

Through GDRFAD Website Online

The visa can be canceled through the GDRFAD website online. Follow the steps below to get started.

  • Step 1: Visit the official GDRFAD website.
  • Step 2: Click on “Services” and click on “Entry Permits”.
  • Step 3: Click on “Visa Cancellation”.
  • Step 4: Click on “Entry Permit/Visa Cancellation”.
  • Step 5: Click on “Start Service”.

Another way to cancel your visa is by visiting the Amer Typing Offices. Follow the steps below to get started.

  • Step 1: Visit the nearest Amer Typing Office.
  • Step 2: Ask the staff to cancel your visa and provide them with all the requested documents.
  • Step 3: Pay the fee and your visa will be canceled.

Another way to cancel your visa is through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) website or service centers.

Through ICP Website Online

Follow the steps below to cancel your visa through the ICP website.

  • Step 1: Visit the official ICP website.
  • Step 2: Click on “Public Visa Services”.
  • Step 3: Click on “Cancellation of Current Visa”.
  • Step 4: You can cancel your visa by proceeding with either “Passport Information”, “Visa File Number”, or “Unified Number”. We’ll be going with “Passport Information”.
  • Step 5: Click on ”Cancellation of Current Visa” and enter your “Passport Information” such as:
  • Passport No.

  • Date of Birth
  • Nationality

  • Death Certificate in case of death.

Through ICP Typing Offices

You can also cancel your visa through the ICP typing offices. Follow the steps below:

  • Step 1: Visit the nearest ICP Typing Office.
  • Step 2: Ask the staff to cancel your visa and provide them with all the documents they may request.
  • Step 3: Pay the fee and your visa will be canceled.

  • E-Services Fee: 10 AED
  • Order Fee: 50 AED

How Much Time Does It Take To Cancel Your Visa?

Once you’ve applied for the UAE Visa Cancellation, your visa will be canceled within 48 hours. You can check the status of your visa at UAE Visa Check.

What’s the Grace Period for UAE Visa Cancellation?

Once your visa cancellation is done, you have 30 to 180 days to leave the UAE depending upon different types of visas. Let’s have a look at them.
